Our Story

From Ranch to Home

I am a retired ranch and rodeo cowboy who handcrafts used (upcycled) lariat ropes one at a time. I have a large selection of ropes and colors and use a process called rope welding to construct them into anything you can imagine — bowls, baskets, clocks, garbage cans, vases, trays, wall decor and more.

Each piece is truly unique and one of a kind since all the ropes used to make the products have been used on ranches and in rodeos. They all tell their own story and have their unique wear patterns — no one piece will ever be duplicated.

The Origin Story

"Several decades ago working on a ranch in Wyoming, I was taught by an old cowboy friend of mine how to make things out of the old used ropes we had laying around."

We did it back then to supplement our income because being a cowhand did not pay that well and there was no use for those old ropes anyways. As I got older I look back on those amazing times we had, the products we created and the wisdom and stories told by my dear friend — I felt the need to bring that craft back.

Every Piece Tells a Story

I can duplicate the type of product but they are truly one of a kind and all handmade one at a time. I also love to do custom orders and have a variety of ropes and rope colors to choose from for these custom projects.

Every rope has lived a life on a working ranch or in the arena. The wear, the texture, the character — that's what makes each piece of Lonestar Lariats decor irreplaceable.
